Here is a vintage Requinto six string acoustic guitar with a single cut-away - with nylon strings and an ornate oval sound-hole and ornate binding. There does not appear to be a makers name or logo or other inscription visible so its not really possible to determine a maker. However it appears to be made in Mexico and although undated likely from the early 1970's - and made by a smaller (private?) maker as conjecture. Spruce body, banded inlays. The doubled white pick-guard and oval sound-hole is a feature of some requinto guitars. There are numerous scratches, dings and playing wear visible so the condition could be described as fair-good.
The term requinto is a Spanish term which refers to a smaller and higher-pitched version of an instrument. So this requinto guitar has a higher voicing than a standard guitar - to allow a brighter sharp tone as a mariachi or flamenco soloist or accompanist.
Its a beautiful and clearly well-played instrument. Enjoy.
